MSc PMBE 2012: the First Week

For those who don't yet know, MSc PMBE refers to our MSc Project Management in the Built Environment. More details on the main website.

What happened during the first week? A gentle introduction to the MSc and the staff with some fun 'getting to know each other' events and some tasters of what lies ahead.

On the second day, staff had organised some activities down in Oxford. Nick Spencer Chapman (in charge of the Project Management and Procurement module) had put together a questionnaire and a few challenges for the students based on a walking tour of Oxford. The following photos (courtesy of Eliana Linares Gonzalez) show some of what they got up to:

In the evening the students attended a presentation from Paul Cross, Associate Director of Strategy, Estates and Facilities Directorate at Oxford Brookes. A lot to talk about with the massive redevelopment project taking place on campus at the moment. Take a look at Space to Think for more information.

Official events were completed the next day with formal enrolment with the Department and the University and a meal with staff and students in the evening (photo by Franco Cheung).

Now we're into the second week of semester and next Monday (8 October) sees the start of the first Intensive Study Week where full-time and distance-learning students come together on campus.
