Er no, non of the staff have won the lottery. This is all about our students winning prizes. First of all, there's Kay Chizlett - she's the Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management student that has been selected as one of the top property students in the UK by the Association of Women in Property National Student Awards. Kay was recommended to enter the competition - a grueling process for candidates involving interviews and delivering presentations in front of a high-profile judging panel - by her tutor. She went on to impress the judges in the regional finals in May, and was subsequently chosen to compete in the National Final in London in September. She came in the top three overall! Well done, Kay!
Secondly, two of our students were awarded prizes by the Chartered Institute of Building (Oxford) on the 11 October 2012. CIOB members had gathered in Oxford to listen to a presentation given by Joe Tah (our Head of Department) and Mark Wright on BIM (Building Information Modelling) and the construction industry. The prizes were awarded at the event.
